Exosome Services

Exosome isolation and analysis with EXO-NET®, offered through a licensing agreement with INOVIQ — from high-throughput extraction to RNA, DNA, and protein analysis.

What are exosomes?

Small vesicles carrying big biomarker signals

Exosomes are membrane-bound extracellular vesicles (EVs), about 30–150 nm across, released by most cells and found in blood, saliva, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid.

EVs carry genetic material and proteins from their cell of origin. Those proteo-transcriptomic signatures can act as biomarkers — including for cancer — driving growing interest in EVs for diagnostics and therapeutics.

Comparison and characterization data for EXO-NET-isolated EVs.

RNA recovery vs. four commercial kits

EV-associated microRNAs chart

From pooled normal human plasma, EXO-NET delivered equivalent or higher recovery of EV mRNAs and microRNAs (lower Ct values) than four other commercial EV isolation kits.

EV markers from human plasma

Western blot analysis of EV proteins chart

Western blot showed EVs positive for CD63, CD81, CD9, TSG101, and flotillin-1 and negative for calnexin; qPCR showed high yields of GAPDH mRNA and miR-191.

EV markers from human saliva

Western blot analysis of EV proteins

Western blot confirmed CD63, CD81, and CD9 with no detectable calnexin; qPCR confirmed high yields of GAPDH mRNA and U6.

Lower serum-protein contamination

Summed peptide intensity of albumin chart

By mass spectrometry, another bead-based kit showed twice the albumin peptide intensity and 6- to 10-fold lower EV peptide intensity than EXO-NET.
