Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, II, III

Job Description

The CLS is responsible for performing routine to specialized molecular technologies, flow testing, quality control, and daily operation. The CLS works closely with supervisors and the laboratory director to ensure good quality and proper Turn Around Time (TAT) for the test results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to specialized testing in accordance with current SOP’s.
  • Participate in validation procedures for equipment, reagents, and procedures.
  • Monitor TAT and workflow.
  • Ensure that all performance verification requirements for quality control and quality assurance for instruments, reagents, materials, and test procedures are in place on a daily basis before any results can be reported.
  • Work with the Supervisor or any designee, in improving current techniques or establishing new ones.
  • Works with internal or external pathologists to solve technical issue or requests.
  • Works with other departments to troubleshoot cross-departmental issues.
  • Supervise and ensure that reagent preparation and monitoring of performance follows QC standards.
  • Have the ability to identify problems that adversely affect test performance or results then document such actions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting skills in instruments, reagents, and procedural problems as well as show ability in training others.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Generate incident reports when appropriate and corrective action logs for reagents, equipment, test procedures as well as employee performance.
  • Accurately perform, analyze and report proficiency testing.
  • Adheres to Department Specific Safety Guidelines.
  • Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of personal information according to HIPPA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Director.

Requirements (preferred)

  • 1+ years of experience in a discipline relevant to the department.
  • Must have a basic understanding of molecular biology and techniques. On job training available.

Requirements (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Physical/Life Science or related.
  • Current California State license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Generalist, or Molecular Specialist
  • 0-2 years of experience in a discipline relevant to the department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to demonstrate time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic understanding of a LIS system.
  • Ability to lift 15-25 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.

Laboratory Associate I, II, III

Job Description

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work in a fast-paced clinical research laboratory. This is an entry-level position that is great for someone looking to get their “foot in the door” in a clinical laboratory setting. You will work both independently and in team-oriented capacities. The ideal candidate will have a good attitude, especially when working flexible or long hours due to special projects.

  • Preparing specimens for analysis

Job Description

The Research Associate will conduct routine to complex experimental procedures within the overall scope of a research project and/or diagnostic test development project. Maintains all appropriate records regarding data collection and interpretation of results. Familiar with basic molecular biology concepts, practices, and procedures including cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing, nucleic acid extraction, ELISA, and use of fluorescence-based nucleic acid detection techniques. Participates in team meetings and discussions. Submits weekly reports to his/her supervisor.

Primary Job Description

Conducts routine to complex experimental procedures within the overall scope of a research project and/or diagnostic test development project. Maintains all appropriate records regarding data collection and interpretation of results.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Research Scientist I will investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, productions, and problems. Familiar with a wide variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures including cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR, real-time PCR, nucleic acid extraction, ELISA, and use of fluorescence-based nucleic acid detection techniques. Experience with NGS is highly desirable. Research Scientist I functions as a team leader and supervises or coaches associate staff. He/she also provides consultation to others on technical issues if needed.

Senior Scientist, Research Scientist III

Primary Job description

Leads projects. Provides technical review, direction, and feedback to others. Conducts advanced research.

Core Job Responsibilities

Design and conduct routine to complex experimental procedures within the overall scope of a research project and/or diagnostic test development project. Displays strong technical knowledge and expertise in molecular biology methods such as DNA/ RNA extractions, PCR, qRT-PCR, and sequencing. Experience with NGS and basic bioinformatics tools for NGS analysis is highly preferred.

Responsible for designing and troubleshooting experiments. Providing technical expertise and problem-solving. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Designs and conducts experiments, accomplishes established milestones and summarizes data, interprets results, and draws conclusions. Recommends options for future experiments. Presents scientific data in internal and external meetings. Supervises or coaches lower-level scientists. Provides consultation to others on technical issues. Conducts meetings with external collaborators and clients. Prepares and present scientific reports and posters. Able to multitask and maintain several projects at one time.

Business Development Coordinator / Entry Level Sales

Job Description

The Business Development Coordinator will learn to support and then execute activities critical in the sales cycle. The role is an inside sales role with the potential to acquire, manage and grow an assigned territory within a year.

Responsibilities

  • Support business development leadership with all facets of the business development life cycle including but not limited to:
    • Prospecting and lead generation
    • Interfacing with leads and closing
    • Contracting
    • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Become a subject matter expert in our business, including processes, operations, the competitive landscape, and remaining up-to-date on industry trends. Insightfully evaluate current and future service offerings
  • Become trained in CRM use and then support the management of pipeline and forecasting
  • After successful training, transition to outside sales which will include:
